Life, Magnified shows students how researchers use light microscopy to investigate the biology of the human body. The event is a series of hands-on workstations including:

  • a visit to active research labs
  • students learn about the structures of the cell and how we can visualise them
  • students get to use a $1 million microscope
  • students take their own images and print them out to take home.
  • presentations from young researchers as they take students through the design, implementation and interpretation of their experiments.

This event is aimed at Year 9 & 10 students and is limited to groups of 10 students per teacher. Schools may arrange multiple groups, as long at the 10:1 ratio is maintained.
